Scenario Builder Terms of Use

Purpose

The Spin for SIM™ Scenario Builder is an educational support tool that helps users create and store their own simulation scenarios. The tool is intended to support, not replace, expert educational and clinical judgement.

Information governance and confidentiality

Users must not upload patient-identifiable information, confidential personal data, incident reports containing identifiable information, or any material that would breach applicable information governance requirements.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any content they add to the Scenario Builder complies with their organisation’s information governance policies, confidentiality requirements, Caldicott principles, and data protection obligations.

Spin for SIM™ accepts no responsibility for the unauthorised upload of confidential, restricted, or protected information by users.

Intellectual property and copyright

Users warrant that they own, have permission to use, or are otherwise entitled to upload any content submitted to the Scenario Builder.

Users remain responsible for ensuring compliance with copyright, intellectual property rights, licensing restrictions, and organisational policies relating to uploaded content.

Spin for SIM™ accepts no liability for copyright infringement, intellectual property disputes, or unauthorised use of third-party materials submitted by users.

User-created content

Scenarios created with the Spin for SIM™ Scenario Builder are drafts authored by the user.

Content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, outdated information, or material inconsistent with current clinical practice.

Scenarios do not constitute clinical guidance, professional advice, educational standards, organisational policy, or evidence of best practice.

Users remain solely responsible for reviewing, validating, modifying, and approving all content prior to use.

Clinical review and vetting

All scenarios created using the Scenario Builder must be reviewed and approved by appropriately qualified subject matter experts before implementation in educational activity.

Spin for SIM™ does not review, verify, endorse, or approve user-generated scenarios.

Responsibility for clinical accuracy, educational suitability, governance approval, stakeholder engagement, local adaptation, implementation, and participant safety remains entirely with the user and their organisation.

Limitation of liability

The Spin for SIM™ Scenario Builder is provided on an “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spin for SIM™, its creators, contributors, collaborators, and affiliated organisations shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, governance breach, intellectual property dispute, educational outcome, clinical consequence, or other liability arising from:

• The use of content added to the Scenario Builder.
• Reliance upon scenarios created with the tool.
• Failure to appropriately review or validate content.
• Any educational or clinical activity conducted using these scenarios.

Acceptance

By using the Spin for SIM™ Scenario Builder, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
